The robotics work group within the ENT-department offers a positions for the development of a robotic assistant for laryngeal surgery. Previous work has been published by the members of the work group.
Development of a Robotic Assistant for Laryngeal Surgery
- Design, development, and the extensive testing of a robotic assistant for laryngeal surgery based on previously constructed demonstrators
- Observation of surgical larynx procedures and definition of requirements for robotic assistance
- Integration of a laser fiber solution and augmented reality into the robotic assistant demonstrator
- Initiation of an early clinical study for the application of the robotic assistant in transoral surgical cases in the larynx
- Maintaining the communication and exchange with industrial and scientific partners during the project
- Co-supervision of PhD candidates and Master’s and Bachelor’s students
Qualifikation
- PhD or Master in robotics, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field
- Hands on experience and background in the development of robotic and mechatronics systems with a particular focus on medical and surgical systems are beneficial
- Strong track record of publications
- Experience with 3D printing
- Fluent English language skills (the German language is a plus) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High motivation and willingness to work in an international and interdisciplinary team
- Maturity and capacity to begin an independent research career
